Getting a Sim Card in Pakistan

Getting a SIM Card in Pakistan by foreign resident is relatively simple and easy. The traveler or foreign resident has to visit Cellular company’s office along with following documents to go a Mobile SIM card in Pakistan. Selection of data package is then up to the customer to select as per his or her requirement and liking.

Requirements for Foreigner for getting a SIM Card in Pakistan

A foreigner in Pakistan or a tourist, for getting a SIM Card in Pakistan or a new connection shall personally visit the franchise or customer service centers of Cellular companies. Facility for prepaid SIM card is not available for foreigners hence they have to buy a postpaid connection. Which means needs advance payment as per their selected package.

 

Below documents would be required to be presented for getting a SIM Card in Pakistan:

  • Original Valid Passport
  • Valid Visa

Note: Please note that the provided SIM would be valid till the expiry of your Visa.

Cellular Companies in Pakistan

Currently following Cellular companies are operating in Pakistan, which issues mobile SIM cards. These are:

Foreign travelers can have maximum of two (2) SIM cards at a time. Against five allowed to a resident Pakistani. Moreover, Validity of the SIM card will be linked to the expiry date of SIM holder’s Visa expiration date.
